Got questions about the proposed Woodland YMCA? Get answers at an open meeting on Saturday, May 12, at Woodland High School.
Come anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to learn about the revised plans for this project. In attendance will be Bob Hall, president and CEO, YMCA of Columbia-Willamette, and key people from the Woodland Community Swimming Pool Committee, including Benno Dobbe, president and chairman.
Coffee, water, soft drinks, and cookies will be served during this meeting.
The demolition ceremony of the Lakeside Motel is set for May 23. The motel is the site of the proposed Woodland YMCA.
The ceremony will be held in front of the motel, 785 Lakeshore Drive. If you’d like a delicious barbecue dinner to go along with the show, America’s Family Diner will be onsite, starting at 5:30 p.m. Several guest speakers will make comments at 6:30, to be followed by a symbolic start of the demolition, provided to the project as a gift from West Coast Training.
The rest of the motel demolition will take place over the next few months after the ceremony. Construction of the Woodland YMCA is expected to begin in 2020.
